Today we took down the crown molding in the living room - it was a three piece system. This is the only room on the first floor where the molding had been painted. We made sure to label each piece, as they will be stripped, stained, and reinstalled. We had previously removed the entire ceiling in the living room

Today we submitted our application to the Meridian Street Preservation Commission for all of our exterior improvements. The hearing date is set for April 17. It will be nice to have this process behind us!

Today we spent some time in the yard. We worked serveral hours and barely made a dent. There will be plenty more hours to spend in the yard.

Today we visited two antique stores in search of lights and doors. We found many nice doors, but unfortunalty they weren't the correct sizes. We will likely get a custom door fabricated. We also found some lights we liked, and will be returning when we get further along in the project.

Met with an arborist today to review the trees on the property. He identfied the spieces of the mature trees and evaluated thier health. Turns out only one tree on the entire property is worth saving...we do have plans to replace many of the diseased trees.

Continued to remove the upstairs mud slab and started on the downstairs slab. Today we also removed  the plaster on the dining room ceiling in an effort to help with electrical and plumbing - not to mention the plaster was staring to come loose in some places.

Started to remove the upstairs bathroom mud slab. There is another in the downstairs half bath. Both carry a lot of weight and will be nice to get out of there. The process was slow and we found pipes and drainlines burried in the cement, which sure didn't help the removal.
