Brad received these gloves and goggles on Anneliese's birthday for his "half-birthday."  Yes folks, you heard me right.  Brad received a half-birthday present - on my birthday.  Doesn't seem quite right, does it??!  Regardless, we are thankful that Martha and John thought to get these for Brad.  As you can see, they've already come in quite handy!

Some renovation-seasoned friends came to walk through the house earlier this week and brought a welcome housewarming gift - a couple of beers!  We've started to bring our tool collection over to to the house so we can get started on the few demolition/cleaning type activities that we could get going on now.  We've also put a coffee/vanilla extract mixture - suggested by Brad's uncle - in the front bedroom to try to mask the funky smell.
